What Fresh Hell?

I wanted to wax poetic about how I got an awesome new job and how excited I was to start a new adventure.

To celebrate my adventure, I went away with some friends to Wisconsin. Near the site of my recent rocky road incident.

I had some celebratory Prosecco and so allowed Scott to drive the car I had borrowed from my sister-in-law.

All of a sudden one of my friends yells "WATCH OUT" and I hear SLAM, followed by seeing a hoof and a very airborne deer.

To put this in perspective: that is two trips to Wisconsin resulting in a car being put into the shop. That's two car repair bills, if my car can even be repaired.

And that pretty much takes care of any extra money I was making at the new job.

I've been trying to keep a stiff upper lip through a lot lately. We seem to repeatedly hit financial setbacks right when we think we have our finances where we want them. Additionally, there's the fact that I hurt someone else's car, and all of the drama and horror that went with making that phone call.

I just don't have anything to spare at the moment, so I'll be taking a hiatus this week.

Hope your days find you deer-less and healthy this week!

Lady, I am so sorry. That whole mess is absolutely horrifying. I'm so glad that you're safe and uninjured but holy god - people think that running into deer is not a big deal. That would be a lie - those things are heavy. Will be thinking of you.

Oh my goodness, talk about bad luck with the cars. Wow, well good luck from here on out :)

ahh, Steph, I feel your pain, I really do. Things are always happening here that set us back. WE just had to cut down a bunch of trees to the tune of 4K...that we don't have, and I'm sorry to say it's on credit cards. I hope things start looking up for you soon.

Ack! So sorry Steph. Sounds scary and a foul way to screw up your celebration.
Sending you a virtual martini.
Best,
Tina

Ugh, I can just feel that sinking stomach feeling that you must have had calling your friend. I'm so glad everyone is OK!
Financial setback or not, it's wonderful that you are employed and that the cash is coming.
Good luck!

You can't get a break! I'm glad that Bambi didn't cause any injuries (other than to the vehicle itself).

And I know the feeling of getting a little flush in the bank account, only to see it flushed down due to an unexpected expense.

Hang in there - it may be tight in the short term but the new job will provide long term relief!

I'm so sorry! If it's any consolation I had to unexpectedly spend $600 at the dentist this week + another $600 to fix my car, thanks to being hit by some random guy at a red light. :(

Hope things get better for you soon!
